Sumario:The document presents the results of a qualitative exploratory investigation, the information was recovered from workshops with focus groups, interviews and social cartography. It highlights the research-teaching technique, starting from the idea that knowledge is built from and with people, in place, and the use of the conceptual theoretical framework of heterotopia. With this methodological structure, we sought to present informal settlements as places where political-legal, economic, technological and cultural innovations are manufactured. This is possible thanks to the network of objects, actors and processes that is only generated in these types of places and at any given time. The case of Sector III, from Altos de La Florida, in Soacha was taken. The results allow us to propose that in these places another future is possible and that this is built by thinking of the place as a unique cultural construct and mainly from an endogenous perspective.
