要約:Sustainable housing faces di erent circumstan- ces that hinder its availability in the market, among them, there can be mentioned the lack of consensus in the definition of the concept of sustainable housing or the lack of adequate financing, among others. This research aims to identify the market conditions that have led to the emergence of sustainable housing in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora. The methodological basis that underpins this article is composed of two phases: the documentary phase in which information was collected regarding the situation of sustainable housing in Mexico, the specifications that a dwelling must meet to be considered sustainable and the available nancing mechanisms. Subsequently, directors of 12 Housing Development Organizations (ODV) from the city of Hermosillo were interviewed, selected for the convenience of a total of 17 organizations affliated with the National Chamber of Housing Development and Promotion Industry (CANADEVI) to cover all market strata. The answers were analyzed qualitatively. The results show that there is a high demand for sustainable economic housing, but the interviewees consider that production costs exceed the sale price in this category and it is unfeasible to offer it. They suggest modifying financing mechanisms, subsidizing infrastructure costs and using alternative construction materials.
