The present book, Studies on energy and environment in architecture, coordinated by Dr. María Guadalupe Alpuche Cruz and published by the University of Sonora in 2019, compiles five case studies that offer us strategies and practical tools to improve the environment built. This text is of particular relevance precisely at this time when sustainability has gained relevance in the architectural and urban endeavors. However, although it seems to be everywhere, sustainability is still a difficult concept to operationalize. The cases presented in this book are of particular importance regarding this effect. Es un honor presentar una obra tan relevante tanto en tema como en temporalidad. El presentelibro, Estudios sobre energía y medio ambiente en la arquitectura, coordinado por la doctora María Guadalupe Alpuche Cruz y publicado por la Universidad de Sonora en el año de 2019, compila cinco estudios de caso que nos ofrecen estrategias y herramientas prácticas para mejorar el medio ambiente construido. Este texto es de particular relevancia precisamente en esta época en que la sustentabilidad ha ganado relevancia en el quehacer arquitectónico y urbano. Sin embargo, aunque pareciera estar en todas partes, la sustentabilidad sigue siendo un concepto difícil de operacionalizar. Los casos que se presentan en este libro son de particular importancia respecto de este efecto.
