Through the application of a series of urban sustainability indicators, considered as a quantitative and qualitative assessment tool for the urbanization process in the urban residential development “El Jordán”, located in Tonalá, Jalisco, a strategic action plan for the optimization
and improvement is proposed. By studying the form of planning and projection used by housing developers, the level of sustainability present can be used as a prospective component to obtain the basis for the projection oriented towards the management of sustainable urban-architectural models from an integral and systemic approach and directed to the planning, creation, and modification of the urban space into more sustainable forms.
