Riassunto: | This paper presents research on tensile force transfer results from a GFRP (glass-fibre-reinforced-plastic) reinforcing bar to the surrounding concrete. The experimental programme was carried out on 27 tensile strut specimens reinforced with single GFRP bars. Force transfer from the bar to the surrounding concrete is characterized by the number and spacing of the cracks that form in the strut. A comparison of GFRP bars with three different surface characteristics was carried out. The result shows that the force transfer from GFRP to concrete is significantly improved when GFRP bars have a sand-coated surface. |
