Sumario:This paper describes an experimental program that aimed to assess the compressive strength and carbonation results of concrete specimens made with four types of white cement. The high early strength cement (CP-V) was taken as a reference for comparison. The influence of the water/cement ratio (0,4; 0,5 and 0,6) was also investigated. The results showed that the compressive strength of the concrete made with white Portland cement was equivalent to the reference concrete. Also, carbonation tests indicated that the concrete made with structural white cement presented a slightly improved behavior when compared to the reference concrete, except for one of the models. The experimental results were analyzed statistically presenting a coefficient of determination greater than 75%. In this case, to reach a better performance some adjustments in the physical and chemical composition would be necessary.
