Gaia:This article discusses the use of the Delphi Method in construction management research. This method consists of the cumulative search for consensus among experts on particular complex issues through successive questioning. Two research studies are described in which this method was applied as a way of capturing knowledge from experts and increasing the research internal validity. The first study deals with the capture of knowledge among construction professionals regarding site planning for concrete pavement roadwork. The second study deals with the search for consensus among expert regarding the competencies required for construction managers. Based on these two studies a set of guidelines for using the Delphi Method is proposed.
