Resumo:Cement-and-lime mortars, with different proportions in mass, were produced with the aim of modifying the compressive strength and the modulus of elasticity, in order to obtain some independence among those two variables. Sixteen different mixtures were made, modifying the proportions in mass of hydrated lime/cement and water/cementitious materials. Based on the results of the tests of mechanical properties, the hypothesis that the variations of the compressive strength and of the modulus of elasticity do not present a direct dependence relationship was corroborated. Based on the analysis of the results, a mathematical model was tested for the relationship between compressive strength and the modulus of elasticity, and the volumetric relationship between the mortar components, resulting in a high correlation degree. The use of this proportioning method and of the mathematical model is proposed for the formulation of cement-and-lime mortar in order to meet the design specifications.
