In relation to the energy-sustainable housing generated in Mexico, regarding compliance with sustainability in the economic and environmental dimensions, the National Housing Commission (CONAVI), develops sustainable housing programs whose main objective is, on the one hand, to reduce costs of operation of the same, and on the other the generation of pollutant emissions.  The global and national scenario in relation to the sustainability precepts, related to the decrease in the production and consumption of energy, can represent a reduction in the cost of generating energy and in the payment of the energy consumed in the economic dimension, and in the environmental aspect related to the mitigation of climate change, through the reduction of GHG emissions.  Las políticas de vivienda sustentable en México han incorporado elementos básicos de la normatividad internacional, en relación con la edificación de vivienda energéticamente sustentable, incidiendo positivamente en la calidad de vida de la población. En relación a la vivienda energéticamente sustentable generada en México, respecto del cumplimiento de la sustentabilidad en las dimensiones económica y ambiental, la Comisión Nacional de Vivienda1 (CONAVI) desarrolla programas de vivienda sustentable cuyo objetivo principal es, por un lado, disminuir los costos de operación de la misma, y por otro, aminorar la generación de emisiones de contaminantes. El panorama a nivel mundial y nacional con relación a los preceptos de sustentabilidad, relativos a la disminución en la producción y el consumo de energía, pueden representar una reducción en el costo de la generación de energía y en el pago de la energía consumida en la dimensión económica; y en la ambiental, lo relacionado a la mitigación del cambio climático, mediante la reducción de emisiones de GEI. Sin embargo, consideramos que lo anterior no representa en la dimensión social un mayor bienestar y confort para las familias.
