Summary:The incidence of atmospheric agents on buildings is one of the most relevant direct causes, which activates or triggers pathological processes of different kinds, affecting the materials and systems that make up the enclosures. This article reflects on the most important injuries identified in buildings and materials under study, which, based on a typification of injuries, definition of pathological processes and diagnosis, allowed to recognize the importance of the design of the details of facades, the quality in construction processes and proper choice of materials, which are essential to guarantee durability and prevent damage to construction elements.
