It confronts the ideas outlined by several authors that, in an or another way they have contributed to the construction of a theory of the architectural project starting from the type notion, where this it is conceived as a formal invariants that one reveals in diverse works of architecture and it is located at the level of the deep structure in the way. Also, it establishes the type idea like a cognitive process through the one which the reality of the apparent architecture their primordial content and, simultaneously, as an operative method that embodies the same base of the act of projecting. El presente escrito tiene como objetivo discutir la posibilidad de establecer los elementos básicos para una reflexión acerca de la relación entre el análisis y el proyecto como estructura de una metodología operativa. Confronta las ideas planteadas por varios autores que, de una u otra manera, han contribuido a la construcción de una teoría del proyecto arquitectónico a partir de la noción de tipo, donde este se concibe como una invariante formal que se revela en obras diversas de arquitectura y se sitúa al nivel de la estructura profunda de la forma. También, establece la idea de tipo como un proceso cognoscitivo a través del cual la realidad de la arquitectura manifiesta su contenido primordial y, simultáneamente, como un método operativo que encarna la base misma del acto de proyectar.
