Es necesario impulsar materiales y procedimientos de construcción que garanticen la conservación del medioambiente y las mejores condiciones de habitabilidad en cada tipo de clima, además de que preserven la imagen tradicional de los poblados. Se presentan comparaciones entre los materiales tradicionales, semiindustriales y con alto grado de industrialización, así como las características térmicas de los mismos, lo que permitirá conocer sus potencialidades y limitaciones.
