This paper elaborates on the issue of professional qualification in the country, from reflective and research results developed at different institutions of higher education. And intends to review the status of academic exercise in the country to complement existing structures, strengthening the reflective exercise that allows a greater access to knowledge, it must cleave to the territory in a manner consistent design, extending the concept of project, tending always to analyze, evaluate and create new entities. El diseño se ha fortalecido como profesión en el ámbito nacional; gracias a ello, en los últimos años se ha dado inicio a la indagación sobre sus alcances tanto en lo que respecta a las dinámicas internas críticas, teóricas y prácticas, como a los debates sobre la incidencia que sus resultados tienen en los procesos complejos del dinamismo sociocultural regional. El presente texto discurre sobre el tema de la cualificación profesional en el país a partir de resultados reflexivos e investigativos adelantados en diferentes instituciones de educación superior. Propone revisar el estado del ejercicio académico, con el fin de complementar las estructuras actuales fortaleciendo el ejercicio reflexivo que posibilite un mayor acceso al conocimiento, el mismo que debe allegarse de manera concordante al territorio del diseño, ampliando la concepción de proyecto, y propendiendo siempre por analizar, valorar y generar nuevas entidades.
