The conference was in charge of Roger Ruiz, María Lanos, Hernán Aldana and Germán Rodríguez, as the result of the Seminar of Latin American Architecture. This text investigates on the aesthetic dimension that addresses the current state of the Latin American architecture. Starting from a meticulous observation of the most outstanding works in the present time, it is given sample of the new contents and sensibilities that have formed inside the formal processes with which this architecture has appropriated the “natural landscape affected by the time like the man’s scenario, the culture and the history” (Niño Murcia, 2000). When trying to refer this processes it shows a group of images and forms of seeing the world, characteristic of the chore architectural Latin American, which attended their realizations mediated by the wide margin of possibilities that offer high technologies. En el XI Seminario de Arquitectura Latinoamericana celebrado en Oaxtepec, Morelos, México (2005) fue expuesta la ponencia “Lógicas de apropiación del lugar en la Arquitectura Latinoamericana. Encrucijada siglos XX-XXI” a cargo de Roger Ruiz, María Lanos, Hernán Aldana y Germán Rodríguez, como resultado del Seminario de Arquitectura Latinoamericana. En ella se indaga sobre la dimensión estética que atañe al estado actual de la arquitectura en Latinoamérica. A partir de una minuciosa observación de las obras más destacadas de la actualidad, se da muestra de los nuevos contenidos y sensibilidades que han ido gestándose dentro los procesos formales, con los cuales esta arquitectura ha ido apropiándose del “paisaje natural afectado por el tiempo como escenario del hombre, la cultura y la historia” (Niño Murcia, 2000). Al intentar referir dichos procesos se pone de manifiesto un conjunto de imágenes y formas de ver el mundo, propio del quehacer arquitectónico latinoamericano, el cual asiste a sus realizaciones mediado por el amplio margen de posibilidades que le ofrecen las altas tecnologías.
