Summary:Toward the end of the XIX century and the start of the XX century, Bogotá began a change in its morphological and social structure because of the appearance of the first manifestations of technological elements and mechanisms characteristic of the progress of Western Europe, it transformed the way concepts and the urban inhabitants’ ideologies. The railroad represents one of the elements most structuring important in the city, not only for its effect on the growth and the urban layout, but also for the transformations that it generates in the relationships among the sectors in Development of the city. This way it constitutes a manifestation of the modernization of Bogotá that consolidated the form of the growth of the city and of their urban tensions, contributing to the transformation of the morphological, social and space structure, with direct incidence in the cultural, technological and ideological aspects of the inhabitants.
