Sumario:The result of this research is a historical interpretation of architecture from a political perspective, which marked through the monumentality and the symbols a space in a certain geographical context, during the government of General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla. Through the history the power of the State, projected in characters belonging to the dominant layers of the society, it has led big changes in the mentality, which has been reflected in economic, urban and social Development. The interest to study the Development of the public works during this military government is due to some modernizing policies were traced in accordance with North American and European Development, introducing the country in the modernity by the middle of the XX century. The above-mentioned was due to that the General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla belonged to the “generation of the new” that was characterized by its mental opening to all that meant modernization for the country.
