Sumari:This text analyzes the current situation of the city of San José from Costa Rica specifically, as for its public space. The same as many other Latin American cities that experienced their biggest development in the last part of the XX century, San José has reflected in his urban landscape, the lack of an aspect visual attractiveness, of which the community doesn’t feel identified. This problem is analyzed being remitted to the aesthetic answer, the cotidianity, the concentration of activities, the configuration of the public space and its influence in the facades of the buildings like borders; these points of analysis arise action rules, to sensitize the professionals implied in the decisions that affect the urban development of the Latin American cities. Finally this process is materialized and it takes since as preponderant main character to the users as important elements inside the urban landscape, it is necessary to analyze its contribution in the interventions from the public space to the urban life.
