En las construcciones arquitectónicas se pueden citar incontables ejemplos en los que el simbolismo se ha manifestado de forma muy clara. Pero en el caso de las viviendas es aún más notorio la expresión del simbolismo. La vivienda representa para el hombre su cobijo, su templo, en la que está implícita sus creencias e ideologías.Numerosos estudios revelan que cuando los hombres no tienen la posibilidad de expresar este lenguaje, pierden el sentido de la vida, decaen moralmente y su organización social se desintegra.En el caso de la planificación masiva de viviendas de bajo costo, es necesario tomar conciencia de la especificidad de cada lugar, y propiciar fórmulas que le permitan a las familias participar en la construcción por etapas de sus viviendas, logrando así reforzar el aspecto cultural y un mejor desarrollo social.ABSTRACTThis work refers to architechtonic simbolism as a point to be taken under consideration among the low cost housing projects planification and construction criteria.Simbolism is an expresion of a wide range of relevant subjective aspects, ideologies, beliefs, concepts or facts. There are lots of examples where simbolism clearly shows itself. But is in the houses that simbolism expresion is even more noticeable. The house is the human being’s shelter and temple, his beliefs and ideologies are inherent to it.It is important to realize that men lacking a language to express those beliefs lose the meaning of life, their moral decays and their social organisation desintegrates.To considerate simbolism in low budget housing projects planification would mean to realise every place particularity so then families would develop themselves from the nucleus (the house). This would allow each place to aquire its own characteristics in a more flexible way. For houses built on several stages the cultural aspect would be reinforced and there would be a better social development. This can be achieved through progressive construction, the use of appropriate tecnologies for each place and the identity between each house and its family needs.
