Summary: | After fifteen years of City Statute approval in Brazil (Law No. 10.257 / 200), scientific research in the areas of architecture, urban planning, and demography indicates challenges for the implementation of Urban Reform in the country, but also reflections on permanent themes, such as zoning, social housing, historical and architectural heritage. This reflection on urban management in Brazil has presented a more comprehensive approach, in addition to the master plan, bringing a look at how urban planning tools are being implemented, their relationship with the guidelines of the City Statute and consequences for cities. It is in this context that this thematic issue of PARC on urban planning evolves. |
