Achoimre:This issue of the Journal PARC Research in Architecture and Construction discusses technological innovation in construction. In other industrial sectors, the term describes a process innovation that extends from the creation of an idea to the market insertion of a new product, process or service. In Brazil, the academia,  the private and public sectors have recognized the importance of formulating a policy for science, technology, and innovation to modernize the civil construction sector. In this issue, five articles have their focus on a variety of perspectives related to innovation. These articles provide examples and also technological innovation induction mechanisms aimed at the construction industry.
