Gaia:Building Information Modeling (BIM) teaching must be seen as necessary, given the construction industry's current requirements. Previous studies have pointed out criteria for identifying undergraduate courses with an interface with BIM teaching to deliver it in an integrated way, distributing content in different classes of an undergraduate program. However, few studies focus on the insertion of BIM teaching in Civil Engineering undergraduate programs based on the development of individual BIM competencies. Thus, this article formulates hypotheses for the implementation of BIM teaching in the Civil Engineering undergraduate program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. From exploratory field research, we propose two categories of hypotheses for BIM implementation.  The first category focuses on the insertion of BIM in at least one course each semester with a robust interface with the paradigm based on the development of individual BIM competencies. The second category focuses on the coordination and teachers of an undergraduate program, focusing on teacher training and laboratory infrastructure..
