On this occasion, the issue is focusing on vertical projection, observing the underground and aerial dimensions of the avenue by studying projects that were designed for that urban space. This work also inquiries about the ideas of modernity that the avenue and the projetcs were linked. The sources for this paper were mostly located in the Honorable Cámara de Diputados de la Nación Archive, moreover were incorporated hemerographic sources and other official documents. This article also proposed to revalue the idea of the project as an object that allows understanding different ways of thinking and materialization of the city along the time. Este trabajo se propone revisitar un sector de la ciudad de Buenos Aires que la historiografía urbana ha trabajado extensamente: la Avenida de Mayo. En esta oportunidad se atenderá la cuestión poniendo el foco sobre la proyección vertical, observando dimensiones subterráneas y aéreas de la avenida mediante el estudio de proyectos que fueron pensados para ese espacio urbano y que permiten indagaciones acerca de las ideas de modernidad a las que fue vinculado. Con este objetivo se analizan una serie de documentos referidos a los proyectos y que fueron reunidos en el Archivo de la Honorable Cámara de Diputados de la Nación, a los que se incorporan también fuentes hemerográficas y otros documentos oficiales. Se propone asimismo revalorizar la idea del proyecto como un objeto que permite entender distintos modos de pensamiento y materialización de la ciudad en el tiempo.
