The study of the works through the specialized magazines will allow us to understand the terms in which this trend contributed to the wider process of renewal of the discipline, and also to identify the specificities that the public dimension introduced in the architectural and artistic debate. El propósito de este trabajo es analizar una tendencia de arquitectura pública construida en Buenos Aires durante los años 1930, que tuvo un papel destacado en el proceso de modernización de la ciudad, incorporando innovaciones programáticas, técnicas y estéticas. Al mismo tiempo, su propuesta implicó reflexiones desde el plano cultural acerca del rol de la arquitectura como arte público. El estudio de las obras a través de la prensa especializada permitirá comprender los términos en que esta tendencia contribuyó al proceso más amplio de renovación de la disciplina, y a la vez identificar las especificidades que introdujo la dimensión de lo público en el debate del campo arquitectónico y artístico.
