Summary:Presidente Perón Avenue is one of the infrastructure works that produces an impact on the metropolitan development of Tucumán over the last 20 years. It is considered a main access road to the city of Yerba Buena that allowed the northwest expansion of the city by modifying an agricultural land by a high status urban residential. Nowadays, complementary activities to residential use have been located and others compatible, such as the Santa Rosa campus college, the Open Plaza shopping center, the private university of Santo Tomás de Aquino, office complexes, among others. The present paper describes the change of land use on this access road, determining how the private sector represented by real estate developers benefits from public works, generating, as Cuenya calls it, an exclusive urban setting, unprecedented in the AMET of Tucumán. These changes are verified and quantified from a synchronous analysis. For this, we use three temporal space cuts: before the construction of the avenue (early 1990s), during the first interventions in the area (decade of 2000) and the current situation, using satellite images type Landsat and Digital Globe, processed on a GIS platform.
