Sumari:The work is subject to participatory research on urban planning, sustainability and education for citizenship. It is justified by the special actions development of urgency to promote joint undergraduate and graduate to improving the quality of basic education. It aims to integrate, work and communicate concepts of urban planning and sustainability for the community, involves students and teachers in primary schools and university researchers seeking the interdisciplinary integration, contribute to the improvement of the educational process. For the development of this research, the choice of partner school was defined from its location in the urban fabric, as well as their physical, social and territorial conditions. The research methodology took place in two stages: the first in the office at the university and in schools, and in the second stage has field survey. The research is preliminary results community awareness on citizenship and the right to the city, as well as knowledge of urban planning, sustainability concepts and critical training on urban forming processes. For academics, the community living warned of the real needs that an urban project should address, as school students leave able to have a critical look at the urban space in which they live.
