The cross between these looks, allows to recognize their incidences in the definition of the specific characteristics of the architecture of public hospitals, making possible to explore the different ideas and actions that the State has had regarding health and architecture in each historical period. A partir de la observación de una serie de álbumes fotográficos de arquitectura del “Hospital Independencia” de Santiago del Estero y del “Hospital Policlínico” Regional de la ciudad Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe, el trabajo se ha propuesto por un lado hacer una lectura de estas fuentes. Y por el otro, reconocer como la arquitectura se define por una sucesión de prácticas específicas del saber arquitectónico, pero también por otras ajenas a dicho saber. El entre cruce de estas miradas, permite reconocer sus incidencias en la definición de las características específicas de la edilicia de los hospitales públicos, posibilitando con ello explorar las diferentes ideas y acciones que ha tenido el Estado respecto a la salud y a la arquitectura en cada período histórico.
