总结: | This paper intends to investigate the relationship between private investments in the hotel sector and public tourism promotion policies, implemented by neoconservative administrations in Mendoza (Argentina) in the period 1932-1943. From a series of measures to promote tourism activity, especially the enactment of laws 1.216/36, 1.298/38 and 1.401/41, an exceptional development of the hotel building took place. Within the framework of an improvement plan for infrastructure, equipment and services associated with tourism, the actions of private parties are considered, who, stimulated by tax benefits and financial guarantees emanating from the provincial State, contributed to the positioning of Mendoza as a relevant destination of the center West of Argentina The construction of hotels and hostels, both in the city center and in suburban or mountain areas, allowed the deployment of typologies, materialities and completely new scales for the time. The review of government reports, legislative texts, technical documentation from town hall archives and architectural journals, added to the advertisements of tourist guides, allow to describe the interaction between public policies and private actions in hotel matters, in the period studied.
