| Summary: | These notes propose a rapprochement to the beginning of the differentiation phenomenon produced in the province of Santa Fe in the mid XIX century and which turned out in the constitution of two different regions -North and South- that had the cities of Santa Fe and Rosario as heads. This considers the differentiation phenomenon as the result of a dynamic process during which a set of internal and extemal, cultural and symbolic, political and economical factors were reciprocally nourished until they constituted defined anddiverse identities. Among all those elements, the analysis stops at two specific aspects: the role fulfilled by the Provincial State and some of the elements that contributed to the formation of the imaginary North and South of the province. |
