For this we will take into consideration, on the one hand, that said subject was introduced into the curriculum when the School of Architecture was created in 1901, thereby seeking to replace the polytechnic orientation of teaching with the Beaux Arts model, and on the other, to recognize that the Elimination of the subject was concomitant with the modernization process of the training of architects. We will affirm, then, that this absence did not imply the failure or rupture with certain elements of the academic tradition, but on the contrary, it meant a slippage between the Beaux Arts system and the modern way of projecting, supported by both systems, in the same positivist paradigm.   https://id.caicyt.gov.ar/ark:/s22508112/x2y8awqku El objeto de este artículo es reflexionar sobre el surgimiento y posterior desaparición de la asignatura Composición Decorativa en el plan de estudios de la carrera de arquitectura de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.
