Résumé:This essay analyzes the ideas that generated the notion of gender and femininity from the Enlightenment to post-structuralism. Its core argument is that feminism is a sociocultural construction that ranges from the recognition of a universal Western woman to the idea of women in diverse struggles for liberation. Through the use of these terms, this essay analyzes the local construction of feminities in San Miguel Teotongo, their resistance and expression in urban spaces.
