En este artículo se describe la radiación solar que llega a la Tierra, en especial la parte espectral del ultravioleta y el infrarrojo, que son la parte no visible de dicha radiación. Se expone la importancia deéstas y su interacción con la materia, de forma sencilla, para que el arquitecto tenga herramientas para diseñar una envolvente de un edificio que sea energéticamente eficiente y adecuada para su uso.
