These seemingly simple structures have been a space for artistic, structural and architectonic experimentation, and in some cases, have even been used for advertising and propaganda. This article analyzes a selection of diving boards from 20th Century Mexico from a historical and artistic perspective, focusing on those designs that are most important because of their innovative approach, their reproduction throughout the country or their connection to architects who played an important role in the development of Mexico’s modern infrastructure. Una plataforma de clavados o plataforma de saltos es una estructura deportiva de dos o más niveles, que se eleva al borde de una piscina, desde la cual los atletas se lanzarán. Estas estructuras, aparentemente básicas y rudimentarias, fueron un espacio de experimentación plástica, estructural, arquitectónica y, en algunos casos, ejercicios de publicidad y propaganda. En este texto se hace una revisión histórica y plástica de algunas plataformas de clavados en el México moderno del siglo xx: consideradas las más emblemáticas por su innovador diseño o por su alcance y reproducción en el territorio nacional, concebidas por importantes arquitectos en el desarrollo de la infraestructura moderna mexicana.
