An analysis of the film El milusos (Roberto G. Rivera, 1981) allows us to approach the spatial complexity of Mexico City, which, over the past four decades, has seen uncontrolled urban sprawl. By considering urban film as a tool that, rather than representing a built landscape, instead explains situations connected to socio-structural changes, this article analyzes the visual construction of the megacity in the film in question. Este texto es un esfuerzo por entender la dimensión social y cultural de la ciudad y la arquitectura vistas a través del cine. A partir de la cinta El milusos (1981), propongo un acercamiento a la complejidad espacial de una Ciudad de México que, desde hace cuatro décadas, ha crecido estrepitosamente hasta desbordar sus límites. Al considerar el cine urbano como una herramienta que lejos de mostrar un paisaje construido es capaz de explicar circunstancias relacionadas con cambios socioestructurales, este trabajo analiza los elementos que intervienen en la construcción visual de la megaurbe propuesta por la cinta en cuestión.
