This path clears up a hypothesis according to which the look experience through the window would represent itself as the archaic form of a threshold that the look behind the shop window transform in ruins. Este ensayo aborda la dimensión mítica y política de la figura de la ventana en algunas obras de Walter Benjamin, poniendo en relación ciertos pasajes de Infancia en Berlín hacia el 1900, donde la experiencia de la mirada a través de la ventana opera como un disparador de analogías, con sus elucubraciones en torno a la obra de Baudelaire, así como con sus observaciones en torno a la arquitectura de los pasajes parisinos de fines del siglo XIX. Dicho recorrido despeja una hipótesis según la cual la experiencia de la mirada a través de la ventana se constituiría como la forma arcaica de un umbral que la mirada tras la vitrina de la mercancía convierte en ruina.
