For this, the hypothesis is placed in how the deployment of the productive and material orbit of society has transformed the mental structures of the subjects in relation to imaginative activity. Emphasis is placed on the necessary consideration of the concept of imagination in light of the context of the digital image. The text proposes a general analysis of our productive context, identifying the digital-computer matrix as a determining manifestation when thinking about a current notion of the concept of imagination, the contemporary idea of subject and a critical notion about representation. Finally, we reflect on the impact that the exponential profusion of digital-technological devices have on the proposed problem, suggesting the need for new critical approaches regarding the imaginative quality of the subject, understanding the latter as a possible political disposition within the context of the digital image. El artículo reflexiona acerca de las transformaciones que la noción de imaginación ha tenido a lo largo del contexto clásico, moderno y contemporáneo. Para esto, se plantea la hipótesis en la que el despliegue de la órbita productiva y material de la sociedad, ha trasnformado las estructuras mentales de los sujetos en lo relativo a la actividad imaginativa. Se enfatiza la necesaria consideración del concepto de imaginación a la luz del contexto de la imagen digital. El texto propone una análisis general de nuestro contexto productivo, identificando a la matriz informática-digital como una manifestación determinante al momento de pensar en una noción actual del concepto de imaginación, la idea contemporánea de sujeto y una noción crítica en torno a la representación.
