Résumé:The article presents the beginnings of productive work by Ediciones Universitarias de Valparaíso, in the period from 1969 to 1973, time in which became a reference to local publishers. It is shown that in these years, the publishing house shared some of the characteristics and ideals of, Quimantú, the greatest publishing exponent of that time, which represented the ideology and policies developed by the State in the government of the Unidad Popular.
