Hence, the article offers some basic concepts on the topic and presents the particular results obtained for the "Love and Friendship Park", as well as consolidated data for the other four parks chosen for examination. La investigación destaca la importancia de conocer a fondo las masas forestales en los parques urbanos, con el fin de lograr un buen manejo de la vegetación de los mismos, y se adelantó en cinco parques de Neiva, aplicando una ficha para el registro de los árboles y los arbustos diseñada por el investigador. El artículo presenta algunos conceptos básicos, además de los resultados puntuales para el parque del Amor y la Amistad, y datos consolidados para los cinco parques estudiados.
