The analysis of this university model with a dispersed structure developed over centuries makes it possible to critically review the advantages and disadvantages for the institution, its surroundings and the city. The availability of public spaces, accessibility, and mobility around university centers are analyzed from the point of view of sustainability in order to produce guidelines for better architectural planning in the future. El artículo analiza la integración de la Universidad de Sevilla, como organismo disperso en la ciudad, desde la óptica de la sustentabilidad. Las actividades universitarias deben dar lugar a hábitats desarrollados a partir de un objetivo de calidad urbana y con una voluntad de integración en la ciudad, dando lugar a una puesta en valor del entorno donde se ubican. El análisis del modelo de una universidad con una estructura dispersa desarrollada a lo largo de la historia, permite analizar las ventajas e inconvenientes que surgen, tanto en la propia institución como en el espacio urbano que la acoge y a su área de influencia. La disponibilidad de espacios públicos, la accesibilidad y la movilidad en el entorno de los centros universitarios son analizadas desde una visión de sustentabilidad para establecer un diagnóstico que genere una mejor planificación.
