Specifically, the Laboratory works with vulnerable Andean communities near the city of Quito (Cotogchoa and La Merced). With their social organization and thanks to the involvement of various actors, it aims to raise healthy and harmonious landscapes through participatory projects. The word "raise" originates in Andean conceptual ideas, which assume that all components are living beings. Therefore, landscapes should be nurtured, cared for and respected to create relationships and emotional ties with them. The proposed projects require special sensitivity to the territory and involve the revaluing of the role of the technician, who interprets needs and realities to reach consensus. Thus, in short this academic work seeks to support processes of reflection and social transformation.  El objetivo de este artículo es exponer algunas estrategias metodológicas que usa el Consultorio del Laboratorio de los Paisajes con el fin de tener acercamientos a la comunidad y, así, mejorar su realidad. En concreto, se trabaja con poblaciones andinas vulnerables cercanas a la ciudad de Quito (Cotogchoa y La Merced), con cuya organización social y gracias al involucramiento de diversos actores, se pretende criar paisajes sanos y armónicos a través de proyectos participativos. La palabra criar proviene de referentes conceptuales andinos que asumen a todos los componentes como seres vivos. Es decir, los paisajes se deben nutrir, cuidar y respetar, para así establecer relaciones y vínculos afectivos con ellos. Los proyectos propuestos requieren de una sensibilidad especial hacia el territorio e implican la revalorización del papel del técnico, quien interpreta necesidades y realidades para llegar a consensos.
