The specifi c aims were: 1) to review the diff erent stages or urban periods of the city, and 2) to study a key period in history where architecture reaches its peak.The methodology consisted of: a) the review of data in the form of photographs, historical and contemporary plans; interviews with key informers and local historicists; and also a literature review of the scarce bibliography related to the city; b) the registry of architectural heritage, the description of the building based on historical and contemporary photographs; and c) the analysis of recent urban development of the city and the value that the community assigns to its architectural heritage. The three stages converged in the reinterpretation of historical plans and architectural drawings.The review and analysis of this information and the dissemination of the results is one of the main contributions of this work. La investigación tuvo como objetivo estudiar la evolución urbana y el patrimonio arquitectónico de la ciudad de Lebu. Los objetivos específicos fueron 1) indagar en las distintas etapas o períodos urbanos que tuvo la ciudad, y, 2) estudiar un período clave en la historia en donde la arquitectura alcanza su auge constructivo.Metodológicamente, el trabajo se desarrolló mediante: a) la recopilación de antecedentes a través de fotografías y planimetría histórica y actual, entrevistas a personajes relevantes e historiadores locales y también la escasa bibliografía relacionada con la ciudad; b) el catastro de arquitectura patrimonial, la descripción de los edificios con apoyo de fotografías históricas y actuales, la reinterpretación gráfica de edificios expresada en levantamientos arquitectónicos; y, c) el análisis de la evolución urbana reciente de la ciudad y el valor que tiene la arquitectura patrimonial para la comunidad. además se trabajó transversalmente en las tres etapas a través de la reinterpretación gráfica de planos históricos y levantamientos arquitectónicos.La recopilación y análisis de este conocimiento y su difusión para la comunidad de Lebu y otros interesados es uno de los principales aportes del trabajo.
