Sumario:This document shows the process of recovery of the Suruhuayco gully in the rural Cotogchoa parish, Pichincha, as an example of the participatory projects implemented in vulnerable communities in Ecuador through the Raising Living Landscapes Proposal. The design process and development of this kind of project are carried out in the Living Landscapes Laboratory, FADA-PUCE, together with researchers, teachers and students linked to communities. This article presents one of the diverse proposals that seeks to recognize local needs and deficiencies to achieve the participatory transformation of degraded sites or "spoiled landscapes" into "healthy landscapes", through actions related to awareness, design, realization and care of spaces that tend to encourage bonds, affection, communication and relationships within the community. Thus, this research presents methodologies, reflections and actions that reinforce, regain or reject processes, stages and good practices, from academia towards the improvement of the quality of life of the community.
