Sumario: | Since more than two decades ago, the complex policies promoted by neoliberalism under the dominance of the economic metropolis that lead the globalization processes have become a phenomenon that invades and knocks down local and national communities, their economic bases and their culture, in all regions of the world. In this context, tourism has revealed as one of the cultural phenomena and factors of the economy of great importance for all countries, especially for those of important cultural and building heritage or for those that are rich in natural resources, which has benefited or affected the local community. This article reviews the case of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, as a real scenario of polarization and dollarization of these extremes of urban and territorial planning. |
