La destrucción generada por las potencias desatadas de la naturaleza durante la madrugada del 27 de febrero, hacen que ese día se haya transformado en una fecha relevante para la memoria colectiva; una fecha que es asociada al miedo, al dolor y a la pérdida, pero también a la solidaridad y el heroísmo. On 27th February 2010 at 3.34am a powerful earthquake shook the southern central regions of Chile and the subsequent tsunami devastated almost 700km of coastline. The earthquake reached a magnitude of 8.8 degrees on the Richter scale: the fifth biggest earthquake ever measured worldwide. The destruction caused by the natural forces unleashed during the early hours of the 27th February has transformed that day into a prominent date in the collective memory, one associated with fear, pain and loss but also with solidarity and heroism.
