El artículo apunta a generar conciencia en la masa crítica en el área arquitectura sobre los temas de sustentabilidad y eficiencia energética aplicados al diseño de viviendas y presenta un caso de vivienda social, la cual además de contemplar todas las variables conocidas en su diseño, involucra variables de sustentabilidad desde su concepción inicial. Se trata de la vivienda "Arauco" presentada al "Segundo concurso arquitectura y eficiencia energética en vivienda social", Chile, 2007.
