Sumario:The Seminars of Latin American Architecture (SAL) had –since its establishment in Buenos Aires in 1985– a leading role in the Latin American architectural culture of the 80s and 90s. These seminars were the meeting point between the theoretical world and the professional practice, as well as among architects dedicated to education, criticism and history. Chile participated actively in these meetings with a positive balance in their early years. However, the influence of the SAL has declined. This text raises three issues to explain the loss of influence of the original SAL fromthe perspective of a member of this forum.
