Gaia:Alberto Mackenna was a innovator, sensitive to his historical time. He also had a progressive viewpoint regarding social and urban problems present in the beginning of this century. He was leader of public opinion and created the Committe for the transformation of Santiago becoming later its president. His thoughts and acts promoted the idea of changing the School into the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in the 20's. Spaking the process wich had started long ago and culminated in the burning of the Vignola books and a discussion about the need of a new architectural program in 1945.
