The museum rescues and gives an added value to the Piloto Pardo Ship being the first ship constructed in Chile which is in a state of deterioration and abandonment.
The strategy to exhibit the Ship is achieved by breaking it into parts, to disassemble the ship into its 4 most important parts (Blocks): Bow, Storage, Home, Machine.
This way it is possible to show what is never seen from a ship, its interior, its structure and intern functioning, its guts.
There are no public fluvial spaces in Valdivia, the project responds to the need having in mind the river as the main public space in Valdivia celebrating with a building that provides a covered space, which detonates cultural activities, recreational, and also activities related to navigation. |
