Under this program, these two entities will use microcomputers to model, analyze and design social housing. Architecture, design and project assessment software will be used to create unique and satisfactory dwellings that could be automatically transformed in the event of modifications to building standards. El artículo explica un programa de colaboración entre el Centro de Diseño por Computación de la U. de Houston, la Facultad de Arquitectura de la U. del Bío-Bío y el SERVIU de la VIII Región, mediante el cual estas dos entidades académicas desarrollarán diseños para viviendas sociales en forma integrada, utilizando como herramienta de modelación y análisis, microcomputadores. Con la ayuda de softwares adecuados al área de diseño, de arquitectura y de evaluación de proyectos, se tratará de producir viviendas que posean identidad propia y un alto grado de satisfacción para su usuario final, así como la finalidad de cambiar su diseño automáticamente ante imprevistos como, por ejemplo, una modificación en una norma constructiva.
