Such experiences are worth considering, especially when this way of producing dwellings suits economic restrictions. Most of these technical proposals were left aside by the heavy prefabricated building and the spontaneous and informal reactions by the people are not taken into account by the professionals. Nevertheless, their value and usefulness claim some attention from the ones new in change of housing programs. A lo largo del proceso revolucionario cubano se han presentado múltiples experiencias en el campo del hábitat autogestionable, dignas de tener en cuenta actualmente cuando esta forma de producir el alojamiento resulta apropiada, dadas las limitaciones económicas existentes. La mayoría de estas propuestas técnicas quedaron engavetadas ante el monotema de la prefabricación pesada; y las propuestas espontáneas e informales de la población aún resultan indiferentes a gran parte del sector profesional. No obstante, el valor de éstas, utilidad y vigencia, impone una reflexión en quienes encaran los programas actuales de viviendas y un cambio de actitud y aptitud para su asimilación.
