Given the conceptual framework where such teaching takes place, it is almost impossible to think of organizing a teachings scheme which deal with housing in due depth. Architects need to change the point of view we have of the problem (as well as other related ones), leaving the classic concepts which the discipline has worked with since the 60'. This paper puts forward, first some of the paradigms on which the present teaching is based, aiming at pointing out where the main troubles for a change lay. Then some of the characteristics of the problem are presented, which should structurally be included in teaching and finally, some propositions and questions are presented. Esta ponencia trata sucintamente de presentar que, plantearse la inclusión del problema de la vivienda en la currícula de poco sirve, en tanto no se realice un cambio radical en la enseñanza de arquitectura. Pues, dentro del marco conceptual en que se desarrolla la enseñanza de la arquitectura, aún es prácticamente imposible pensar en organizar un sistema formativo que atienda el problema de la vivienda con profundidad. Los arquitectos necesitamos cambiar la percepción que se tiene del problema (como de otros conexos), abandonando los preconceptos clásicos con que la disciplina ha venido trabajando desde los años '60 en adelante. En el trabajo repasamos, primero, algunos de los paradigmas sobre los que se construye la enseñanza actual, tratando de demostrar donde residen los principales impedimentos para un cambio. A continuación se presentan algunas de las características que el problema asume y que debieran incorporarse en forma estructurada a la enseñanza y por último, se presentan algunas propuestas e interrogantes.
